I'd like to see road construction to increase the speed you can move.

I love this line of suggestions.
1) Adding Fortresses that add to the number of defending troops in a city
2) Adding another structure that add to the amount of special troops spawned in a city
3) All added structured destroyed when the city is captured
However with the limitation of army sizes Vince plans on putting in this age, adding Fortresses as well would make taking Capitol’s a near impossibility till you have an Emperor. Assuming there won’t be an army cap for Emps. The question is weather or not making the taking of capitols very hard will solve his perceived problem of fast country deaths. Will being trapped in a 1 city country that spawns way too few troops for all officers inside be a more enjoyable experience then just killing the country and starting again elsewhere? It may seem more interesting from the outside as if it were all a board game but being one of the trapped officers would not be fun imo. Unless there was also another way to leave a country. Perhaps a Deserter option so folks wouldn’t have to suicide to get out of a situation like that.

The Casino: for side bets on the outcome of a battle (whether you're a participant or not) — and for larger betting on when a nation will meet its demise.

or you could have it so that you can choose how much money to put into the fort, and everytime it reaches a satge you have to put more money into it to get better and better fortress's
e.g onthe side of the screen it says donate gold towards fortress, you type the amount in and click ok
and the fortress culd have strengths such as basic - 150 extra troops(advanced units) - 10k gold Upgraded - 150 tropps - veteran/200 troops - 25k gold Important Fortress - 150 troops elite/250 troops - 50k gold Major Fortress - 200 troops elite/ 300 troops - 75k gold Fortified Fortress - 250 troops/350 troops - 100k gold

I also like the fortress idea. Combined with the max limit on army size per rank it should make the smaller countries able to survive a little better i think.

i like d idea of d fortress. how about if we put in money into d fortress for more defense. The fortress must be in a capitol of d country or city with castle cause we should have good defense to hold our supply of units (castle). Example : 250k gold - add 1% strength to fortress defense. add 250k gold - add 1% more until max is 10% additional strength to d fortress. or if 250k gold is too much then 100k gold per 1%. this way its hard to hit a city with a castle. So the extra gold can use to make the fortress around the castle harder to hit.

er.
What about paying a city vet hire cost + 336 turns (7 days) of wage, and unit goes to city garrison?
Vet. Musketeer : 1920 gold. 336 turns wage: 5 * 1.3 * 336 = 2184 gold. Sum : 4104 gold.

maybe as long that we can use some of our gold to make our castle harder to penetrade/conquer. then if d city changing hand then it would be destroy so d new owner of d city need to invest back d gold to make d defense.
meaning if d city had no castle so no additional defense for d city garrison. this to make it harder for a city with castle to be conquered.

example : if u had 10 officers, 100 artillery, 100 calvary & 100 infantry in the city. Add all d damage together plus 1% (fortress strength) = new total damage while defending d castle. This fortress strength only can be use when defending d city only. So imagine if u had 200 officers, 500 artillery, 750 calvary & 3000 infantry = total damage + 1% = new total damage. so it can be a lot of damage added to it. So if d entire nation officers would be in 1 city then it gonna be hell of army trying to defeat them or finish off the nation fr the map...

The Headquarters: a special "unit" for the leaders of armies. It does cost money but provides advantages in tactics.
