There are times when the amount of gold one possesses far exceeds the options for payment and hiring. I'd like to suggest the introduction of real estate in a way. The Bank: a safe place for your extra cash and a way to lend some to other players The Fortress: a means of providing some security for the hinterlands of your empire The Barracks/Stable: a place to keep injured and/or temporarily dismissed troops while you pursue other matters

looks pretty good but i think "a safe place for your extra cash and a way to lend some to other players" has been rejected too often

Good idea, but maybe the fortress idea should be changed to something that will make the city centre stronger by investing money in it. and where should the barracks/stable thing be at? travelling with you??

I so agree with this idea. we need more way to spend the gold instead of carrying it around.

where should the barracks/stable thing be at? travelling with you?? I think the barracks thing could either be seen as a supply train - away from the main skirmishes or perhaps a rented service. The fortress option also works as you've suggested - reinvesting in the town.

I don't think it's a good idea. (stable..). this will be about the same as the hospital.. because I think you will allways let your forces fight. Maybe if they wil gain xp by being there it's ok, but they will have to fight with you, when you do. Else you can just join an army and let your forces do nothing while you will gain the xp for being in the army, and your forces gain xp for being in the stable or barracks.

I think it would force good players to be smarter with money.

Well I like the Fortress idea. It would be nice if Fortress was available in all cities and you could choose to put gold into whatever city you wanted *long as it belongs to your country* to boost the defense.

Me to the Fortress idea is good perhaps it can cost 5000-10.000 gold and give a city an additional 100-150 troops? Would add a little more defence strategy in the game. Obviously if a city is taken by the enemy the structure should be destroyed!

yeah if a city is taken the fortress looses all gold put in it just like the city starts fresh on giving gold.
Also that the Fortress can collect gold, when it hits a certain amount of gold then new troops arrive in city (troops being unbuyable). That way everyone can put what they can afford into the Fortress not have to say till that amount of gold.

The bank seems not to be popular... what about some spiritual investment? You give massively gold to your country religious authority and your healers get, from time to time on a random basis needing lotsa gold each time, a 1% effectivness bonus or sometimes 1pt str This may affect only native healers of the player for sure, and if your nation his defeated, you lost this previlege for the remainder of the age

Well i only like the fortress option. This will give the game extra depths. Different strategies would be possible with this.
How should this actually work? Does one player purchase the whole building by him(her)self, do officers who want to invest money in it or does HC vote for it, and all players automaticly give a percentage of their money?
Another quistion would be if the whole fortress should be bought at once or in pieces. In that way you can update defences.
Offtopic: Can there also be a structure which gives extra special units every day, so that they are not sold out so fast.

I'ld say any officers who want invest money in it. It's not fair to officers who are short on gold already to loose more gold then they can afford to pay for it, nor should it be only one person's responisibility. I would say a button in each city *maybe only cities with Castle's or only small cities?* to allow players to put gold into the Fort. Obviously for anything other then the Capitol they will want to coordinate this, but it would be useful.

Gold is usually gotten by officers who have a better army so I don't see the problem
