These rules apply to all boards, not just the general board; they will be enforced by the moderators by giving warnings, closing/moving threads, and/or deleting threads or posts, at the discretion of the moderator who is taking the action. Repeated violations may result in a (temporary or permanent) ban from these boards, please don't let it get that far
With these rules we all can have a great experience reading and posting on these boards
If you made a new thread/post and it's gone, don't just repost the thread/post. Check to see if it's been moved to another board (which would happen for instance if you posted a question in the general or bugs board); if it's not moved it probably has been deleted, in that case check your Private Messages, we will usually send a message after deleting a thread or post).
If you think a mod should have a look at a certain thread or post, send a message using the message system in these boards (PM), or use an Instant Messenger (contacts are listed).
Rules for avatars & signatures
Avatars are restriced to pictures of 100 x 100 pixels or smaller. Avatars may not contain explicit, offensive or inapproriate material. If this rule is violated, admins will do two things:
(1) Send a warning to the person involved via private message, asking to change to the avatar.
(2) All posts by the offender will be deleted. Depending on the severity of the violation, that'll happen as soon as the infraction is discovered or 24 hours after the first warning has been issued.
People who continue to post with their avatar after being warned, will be banned.
Signatures are restricted to text-only, no pictures allowed. UBBC codes are limited to plain text, bold, italics, underline, strikethrough, text alignment, and colors.
- Don't post in any language other than the English language.
- Choose the most appropriate board for your posts (Questions go into the Q&A board, bugs in the bugs board, etc.).
- Don't post twice in the same thread if modifying your first post is still sensible (for instance before anyone else has replied).
- Personal attacks, profanity, insulting remarks, etcetera are not allowed.
- Don't spam. (exception for spam board but keep it real)
- Don't feed the trolls (don't be one either)
- Leave real-world politics and religion in the real world.
- Last but not least: listen to the moderators
